MAC Mocha!

I can safely say that I am now addicted to lipsticks. I think my collection has grown just a tad! Last month I got a new MAC lipstick (oops) in 'Mocha'. I was looking for a brown undertoned nude colour and this one looked perfect. On my lips it looks more peachy, which I like, it's something I wear now when I go heavy on the eyes. I know that I will get more use out of this when it's summer because of the brighter tone of the lipstick.

It's a satin finish, but it feels like a matte finish to me. I like wearing this by dabbing it on my lips and blending with my finger. I would definitely wear a lip balm underneath it to give a little moisture to the lips.

What's your favourite MAC lipstick?

Fresh Cheeks - Look Beauty

I first heard about the Look Beauty brand when it launched last year and I saw bloggers and YouTubers going to their event in entral London. It's weird to have a magazine launch their own beauty line, but from the two products that I recently purchases they're definitely a brand worth looking into. I am very impressed by this Fresh Cheeks cream blush in Guava.

Look Beauty have a HALF PRICE offer on all their products and I got this baby at £2.50 . This offer ENDS on the 22nd Jan, so have a look at the look beauty website, or the superdrug website. I was tempted by their polishes, but I don't need anymore (like I needed more blush!).

Anyway, the texture of this product is so smooth and creamy. It's not tacky like some cream blushes can be, I'm so fond of cream blushes and I am always looking for a new or different texture. It's not an opaque colour when you touch it, it's quite sheer, which I like for a cream blush because you can't put too much on. The packaging is sleek and cute, in keeping with their range.

I just used my fingers to apply this with gentle tapping motions to blend it out. It gives a lovely sheen to your cheeks, which for this time of year is lovely. It lasts quite well on the face, I'm not going to say its amazing staying power, but it does well considering the sheer texture that it has. It's a shame they only had three colours to choose from, hopefully their range will grow.

I think that these would suit all types of skin tones, because they're sheer and will look like natural 'flush'. They remind me of the Maxfactor cream blushes in terms of texture, but definitely not in price as they are £6.99 for what seems like less. Getting this has really made me want to explore their range of products a lot more.

Have any of you tried their products? Have you bought anything whilst the offer has been going on?

Breakfast Club Scrub!

I'll be honest, I've never really understood the hype surrounded Soap & Glory products, all I ever understood was that it smelt amazing. But, in the name of blogging (yh, right!) I thought I would try out a couple of their products. I picked up the Breakfast Scrub and the Righteous Butter. As previously stated in last months favourites post, I don't quite understand the love with the body butter, to me it's just a normal moisturiser, I think that the Body Shop body butters are much better.

Let me start by saying that this product smells AMAZING! Like, I literally want to eat it! (not that I would, definitely not). It says it's a maple smell, I think it's more of a toffee smell, whatever it is, it's scrumptious.

The scrub itself it literally just 'scrub' particles, what I mean is there is no liquid part to this. I have used loads of scrubs and most tend to have some kind of cream or liquid counterpart to the scrub micro beads. I personally love that this doesn't. It just gives a better result in terms of exfoliation. It's slightly more 'gentle' than exfoliating gloves, which I love using. I take a scoop of this to go over my whole body, I always forget I don't need a lot because it goes quite far when spread. You don't need to scrub with pressure, just let the sugar do what it needs to do and rub in circular motions.

It definitely leaves my body feeling softer. I have a similar scrub from the body shop in terms of consistence and the fact that it's a sugar scrub but as soon as that touches the water it dissolves. The Soap & Glory one, however, does not. It still stays coarse when water has touched it allowing you to have a good scrub.

It's not the most moisturising scrub I've used but that doesn't particularly bother me because I put the moisture back into my skin when I'm out of the shower, which I suggest everyone do anyway.

It's quite an abrasive scrub, so if you're looking for something gentle I would stay away from this one.

£9.50 for 300ml - for the amount you get, worth the price tag.

I, personally, am smitten with this scrub. The combination of using this and my exfoliating glove is perfect for my skin. If you wax your skin (for hair removal) and you find that you get ingrown hairs I would definitely tell you to invest in exfoliating gloves and this scrub. I find that it works the best at preventing them when keep up with a routine of using these two.

Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask!

After much debating, oh'ing and ah'ing I finally took the plunge and bought the Origins Drink Up intensive Mask (I say bought, I used my Boots Advantage Points). I think this is my first skin care product that I was really unsure of. After much read hype provided by many well respected and trusted beauty 'guru's', I was still in two minds about whether to buy this product or not, mainly because I forget to put on face masks. But with my points burning a hole in my purse I thought this is the best way to try out this product without feeling guilty. And oh boy am I glad I did!

The texture is like a smooth thick paste that you slather onto your skin before you go to sleep and leave it on, yes leave it on. You do not rinse this baby off. Any excess that maybe sitting on your skin is to be wiped away by a tissue and then it's time for you to hit the hay.

It turns clear once massaged into the skin and it's got a pleasant apricot smell to it. It's not offensive.

I don't know what I was looking for when trying this especially when my skin is oily, but this puts the plumpness back into the skin without it causing your skin to produce oils. It's odd going to sleep with this on I have to say, I was so aware of putting my face on my pillow; and for someone who sleeps face front it's definitely hard. When this is washed off I definitely felt that my skin was softer, like a lot softer. It's mostly absorbed by the morning, if you've put on a little bit too much then you can still feel the tackiness of it. If you have dry skin, I would definitely recommend this baby. Makeup definitely applies better after having used this. I tend to use this the day after I have exfoliated, this gives the best results for myself.

£20 for 100ml - I think it's definitely worth the money.

Overall I think this is a great product. I would even go as far to say that I would repurchase this. If you haven't tried this I urge you to go and try this.

Have any of you tried this? What do you think of it?

2013 Will Be A Better Year For Me!

I'm not one to make new years resolutions, in fact I don't think I've ever done a new years 'resolution'. I find that I don't really want to 'stop eating cake' or 'start getting obsessed about my body', mainly because I'm happy with the way I live my life and/or I have no will power to stick to such restrictions. But this year I want to make a difference, not only with what I eat but the way I live my life. I'm now 25 and I want to make this year something to really remember. For the past three years I feel as though nothing exciting, different or invigorating has happened in my life, I feel stuck in a rut which I am desperate to get out of. The only way I can do this is with motivation and the push of the new year!

Although I am in my mid-twenties, I feel as though I'm 18 in my head, which in most ways is a good thing but I can't still live my life like I'm 18. I don't mean in terms of going out etc. but with regards to responsibility and general growing up (oh gosh this is starting to sound depressing). Basically, I still don't feel like a fully fledged adult.

Luckily I have a group of friends who want 2013 to be a more exciting year for them too so we are going to enjoy this year together. So here are some changes and enhancements I want to make in 2013;

I'm going to start with one that probably 90% of people are trying to do! Take better care of my body. I try and do regular exercise but I find I really have to force myself to do it, so I'm going to try and turn it into something fun. I started doing more exercise last year but it was very 'stop/start', I loved seeing the results, so I just need to stick to something more regular. As for my eating habits, well they aren't exactly the greatest. So I'm going to try and eat more fruit and greens. I think that I should really start thinking of my body as my temple and make it the best it can be.

The next one is something that I'm going to bring with me from 2012 and that is to go out more often and meet new people. I probably have been out more in the past 5 months than in the whole year prior to that! And I have been loving it! Just going out and enjoying my friends company, having a laugh and meeting new people has helped my confidence grow! I didn't realise how shy and reserved I was before then. This resolution is really going to be helped by my lovely friend who has a list of things that we need to do and places we need to go this year.

Third resolution is to be more productive and less lazy. This is with regards to my career/job. I want this area of my life to move forward and to achieve this I need to definitely do more. I have a lot of motivation to push this area of my life forward, so hopefully that motivation will translate to productiveness.

This next one is again something that I'm going to bring forward from last year and that is to be positive and put out good energy. I am a true believer of karma and I try to put out as much good energy as possible, that is; to be a nice person and treat others how I would like to be treated. I'm quite chilled person, I don't really take things too seriously and don't get wound up by little things so I know this will be easy to achieve. I think if anyone else is trying to do this in 2013 here are some tips:

Don't take things too seriously, whether it be things people have said or done, they probably didn't mean offence. I notice a lot of people take things to heart far too easily, it just builds this negative attitude that their life could probably do without.

Learn to laugh at yourself. If people are joking about you laugh it off, you'll find that you'll feel much better about it. They're probably just doing it because you take it so seriously in the first place. Trust me, I come from a family of male cousins who constantly take the piss out of me, but I just laugh and give it back. I know they love me, and it's probably the same for you.

Try not to talk about everyone and their mother. Gossip is not cool and likeliness is that it's going to come bite you in the butt. Concentrate on you as a person and give less unnecessary attention to those around you.

Try looking on the brighter side of things, life's too short. I know this is easier said than done but baby steps.

And my final improvement; to worry less about the future. I think this worry really kicked in last year and I don't think I've ever really stopped. I try to act like I'm not worried about anything like marriage, career etc. but to tell you the truth it really does scare me. Coming from an Indian family, there is a lot of emphasis on marriage for a girl, especially now I'm 25, but I want to fall in love, not have an arranged marriage. There is nothing wrong with an arranged marriage just I don't think it's for me, not yet anyway. I'm lucky to have the parents that I do, who haven't pressured me at all, but it doesn't stop others from saying things like; 'have you found someone?', 'do you want us to look?' and my favourite 'when are you getting married?' (I'll let you know when I do, just please stop asking!). Hopefully, rather than worry I will just live my life how I want and not worry about what all these other folk are talking about!

Well, that's it. That was a long one >< I hope you weren't too bored reading that if you did make it to the end (go you! And thanks! =D). Hopefully at the end of 2013 I can revisit this post and see what my life's like then. Hopefully better!

Have you made any 'resolutions'? What were they?

Polish Post #7 Green Bones!

Happy new year lovelies! Hope that you all had a good one whether you went out, chilled at home or even got an early night! =)

Just a quick post on what I have to say is the most durable nail polish I have ever worn. It's the Revlon Colour Stay in 'Bare Bones'. I think it's EsteƩ from where I first saw this polish. I was away for a while back in December in America for my cousins wedding and obviously I couldn't leave there without picking up a few goodies. All the goodies I did get were things that were cheaper out there than here in the UK.

Anyway, I would describe this polish as a Grey with a hint of Khaki Green in there. I know it's going to be one of my favourites because this type of colour suits my skin tone.

£5.00/$4.99 - Definitely worth the spend considering the quality.

Colour Payoff/Quality:
Amazing. I think that describes it. I did two coats of this just to be in the opaque side and used my Sally Hansen Instadry, but I think if you were in a rush you could get away with just one coat. The quality…now this polish lasted a whole week without chipping! I do not lie! I was/am sooo impressed. I've never had a polish that doesn't budge like that. And I mean I was washing up, showering, all the usual chores of my life and nothing. I kept expecting a chip here or there but every time I looked, nothing. The drying time is very good as well, not super quick but reasonable for a non instant dry polish.

I think I am definitely going to be looking to this range of polishes. I know I have a lot, but I think this range may beat all the hype surrounded by OPI and Essie. And considering it's in the middle of road in terms of price I really recommend you to have a look if you're able to.

Have you ever tried this range of polish? Would you consider it?
